Long story short. Neither of us made it to Gallifrey One. In my case, it’s because my car was in the shop. And still is one month later. So, instead we bring you a slightly shortened version of our Science of Doctor Who panel what we do at Conventions. Sit back, relax, and join us for a discussion of science.

In non-Doctor Who-related news, this episode is dedicated to Leonard Nimoy. He made logic cool. He was an icon of Science. And he took us on voyages of discovery. Thank you, sir. This one’s for you.

The Dawn of the Star Fleet?

Posted by: Dr. Geek

Okay, so this is not Doctor Who related, but I saw this new article and I just had to share. I am sure our faithful readers know the US space shuttle program is coming to an end. To celebrate over 30 years of achievement, NASA decided to have special wake up calls during each shuttle’s final missions. For today, NASA had William Shatner provide a altered version of his famous Star Trek opening.

Pretty cool, no? You could almost feel as if this was the beginning of Star Fleet, if you did not know the whole program was shutting down.

We All Hoped This Day Would Come

Posted by: Dr. Geek

That’s right remember the day you heard that scientists had their first breakthrough in teleportation? Well today is another groundbreaking day. According to this article it appears that The Doctor’s trusty sonic screwdriver may eventually become a reality.

Okay, so like teleportation what has been achieved is a minute fraction of the sci-fi counterpart but it is a beginning. If the technology does advance to the point it makes it to the consumer market, I wonder who will invent the deadlock seal?

Um…Doctor?

Posted by: Whochick

Um…Doctor?

Okay. This image was first seen here, but then the folks here noticed something.

Doesn’t that look like the crack in spacetime that has been following The Doctor about this year? And it’s in the Milky Way. Eek!
