Okay, so The 10th Doctor was not the final torch bearer, but did you hear what I did?

Over the weekend, The Offical Doctor Who Convention aired the first trailer for Series 7. Now, thankfully, this trailer is avaliable for everyone.
So, what do you think? Maybe this is how the non I Daleks will come back?

In this age of social media, and the 24 hour news cycle, it is almost impossible for a television show to surprise its audience. Sure, as fans, we all say we do not want to be spoiled, but in reality, when you love a show, you cannot help but be curious about what is going to happen, you cannot help but seek out spoilers.
As a result, producers, like Steven Moffat, do their best to control the release of these spoilers. But, try as they might, no one can keep such a big secret as who the companion will be. That is why it was no surprise to find out that Sophia Myles will be coming back to Doctor Who as the new companion …. Wait! What? No, strike that!
For months, smart money had it that Sophia Myles was coming back to reprise her role from The Girl in the Fireplace. In fact, Sophia had been recently spotted near where Doctor Who was filming on location. Moffat created Reinette, so putting two and two together, this should have been easy. But wait we all forgot, like The Doctor, Moffat lies.
Well okay, maybe that is too strong of a word, but Moffat is aware of what fans know, or think they know. Who is to say he did not ask Sophia to come to Spain, just so that today’s announcement would have an extra punch. However it happened, I am thrilled to discover that I did not see this coming. The new companion is going to be Jenna-Louise Coleman.
Jenna was recently in the new Captain America movie, which I think shows she is comfortable with fantasy, sci-fi and special effects. Who exactly she will be playing on Doctor Who, is still a secret, and hopefully will remain so for at least a few more weeks.
Hello again. I’ve been clearing out my email and I’ve discovered a whole bunch of newsbytes that we’ve never gotten around to posting here. (Often with hat tips to Blastr and the gang at ESO.) So…I thought I’d post them. Most recent will be at the top, so when you reach the stuff you’ve already seen, just skip right down to Sillysparrowness and the amazing TARDIS that she built. Alright?
Standby for a NewsDump!
And Finally:

Hello all. I seem to have a bunch of random links, newsbites, etc. cluttering up the place on my desktop again. Obviously, this means it’s time for an InfoDump! (Please make sure that you are seated comfortably.)
And finally:

Over the past few weeks, there have been more news about the upcoming series of Doctor Who. So far the only thing we know for sure is that the new series will have at least 14 episodes. This is counting the next Christmas special. So really all we know is the new series will have about as many episodes as all the other normal series. However, recently former 7th Doctor and Ace actors were interviewed and they mentioned how they would like to come back to the show for the anniversary.
As you can see, there is the suggestion that past actors could come back, not as The Doctor, but as other characters, like a villain. I can see the appeal of doing this, as many of the actors do not exactly look like they use to. However, for the most part this is really on a problem for Tom and Colin Baker, the 4th and 6th Doctors. The current show has already presented the 5th Doctor, and with a little makeup, McCoy would look like he did in the TV movie. We do not know when The 8th Doctor regenerated so really there is no big problem for McGann.
Personally I think it would be great for the 7th Doctor to show up in something other than a video image.

Just a quick post to let folks know about some amazing news. Two previously missing episodes of Classic Who have been recovered! (I’ll have to update my list, which should go live tonight, btw.)
The episodes are:
Episode 3 of the William Hartnell adventure “Galaxy 4″ and
Episode 2 of Patrick Troughton’s “The Underwater Menace”
Huzzah!
Here is a special treat for everyone. The BBC released a prequel episode for the upcoming Christmas special.
So what do you think? Pretty exciting no?
Unlike some Doctor Who mini episodes created in the past for Children in Need, this year’s instalment breaks the fourth wall just a bit. Check it out.
So WHO is going to have the winning bid for The Doctor’s clothes?
