Doctor Who – Besieged is a (professionally done) Doctor Who/Alien crossover fan film and Ryan Hendrick is the driving force behind it. He also plays The Doctor in it.

On the 49th anniversary of Doctor Who’s premiere, we got a chance to interview Ryan about his film. This, then, is that interview. *cue dramatic music*

Scott and Calliope get to interview Inspector Spacetime himself, Travis Richey! Inspector Spacetime, originally a Doctor Who spoof that appeared on Community, has taken on a life of its own. Fans have taken that beginning, and created a whole world to go with it. And now, there could be a related webseries….

Past Doctors in the 50th Anniversary

Posted by: Dr. Geek

Over the past few weeks, there have been more news about the upcoming series of Doctor Who. So far the only thing we know for sure is that the new series will have at least 14 episodes. This is counting the next Christmas special. So really all we know is the new series will have about as many episodes as all the other normal series. However, recently former 7th Doctor and Ace actors were interviewed and they mentioned how they would like to come back to the show for the anniversary.

As you can see, there is the suggestion that past actors could come back, not as The Doctor, but as other characters, like a villain. I can see the appeal of doing this, as many of the actors do not exactly look like they use to. However, for the most part this is really on a problem for Tom and Colin Baker, the 4th and 6th Doctors. The current show has already presented the 5th Doctor, and with a little makeup, McCoy would look like he did in the TV movie. We do not know when The 8th Doctor regenerated so really there is no big problem for McGann.

Personally I think it would be great for the 7th Doctor to show up in something other than a video image.

Earth Station One: Episode 94

Posted by: Whochick

Earth Station One - Podcast #94

This time around Calliope guested on the ESO podcast without Scott…but only because he was on a boat at the time. Details. The topic this time around is Crossovers in TV, Films, books, comics…pretty much anything, really. As a special treat, if you make it all the way to the end of the podcast, you can listen to the bloopers. These include when Calliope’s computer decided to freak out and make her sound like a Dalek. Well, maybe a Dalek swearing in Kaled…

Why not pop over and download Earth Station One: Episode 94 and listen to the discussion. Also, if you have a favorite crossover, you should comment and let them know.

Earth Station One - Podcast #88

Once again Scott and Calliope prove that they like talking about Doctor Who a bit too much by guesting upon the Earth Station One podcast to talk about the last Fifth Doctor story – Caves of Androzani. Okay, really, they’d guest on the ESO podcast for any reason, as it’s always a good time, but this time…Classic Who. As you can see below, neither of them had to deal with the Geek Seat this time, as they’ve already done it. So there.

Why not pop over and download Earth Station One: Episode 88 and listen to the discussion. Also, if you have a geek gift to add to the list, be sure to let them know.

Also, if you haven’t yet checked out the QMx website…what are you waiting for?

Earth Station One: Episode 80

Earth Station One - Podcast #80

Apparently, Scott and I like talking about Doctor Who so much, that we guested on the Earth Station One podcast to do it there, too. The table of contents for episode 80 is listed below if you want to skip past me making a fool of myself in the geek seat, for example. Oh! And one thing I have been compelled asked to mention: The Lion King is my husband’s favorite Animated film, rather than his favorite overall. Just FYI.

So, why not join us for a discussion of the final episode, a look at the season arc, and a bit of forecasting? How do you think the story will continue? Will the Doctor be able to stay hidden? Who will be the new companion? I guess we’ll have to wait and see (unless you have a TARDIS handy.)

Table of Contents

0:00:00 – Intro / Welcome
0:07:24 – Rants & Raves
0:29:23 – The Geek Seat w/ Calliope

Doctor Who on Today

Posted by: Whochick

Look what my Mom found for me on the Today Show. Doctor Who! Before you watch, though, be aware that spoilers lurk within. (And also, an American reporter who is not familiar with the show…unlike her comrades, as it turns out.)
