Doodle Origins

Posted by: Whochick

Just for fun, here is the actual origins of my idea for Doodle Who. It arrived when we were at dinner at a restaurant that gives you crayons to draw on the paper table cover. You might say I had a bit too much fun…

Site Tour: Doodlewho

Posted by: Whochick

unknown

Hello all. We’ve been working on so many things with this new site that I thought a series of site tours were called for.

So…here’s the first one.

If you look up to the top of the page, just below the banner, you will see a series of tabs. I would like to direct your attention to the one marked “Doodlewho.”

Now, I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it here, but I am not well known for my ability to draw. If you click on the Doodlewho tab, however, you will discover my meager skills in the arena of doodling. I can draw quite the stick figure if I do say so myself.

This is where you will find all of my silly doodle scenarios, and possibly (if I can figure out how to doodle it) an A-Z of random Who doodles. …Wish me luck.

My Mysterious Doctor

Posted by: Dr. Geek

Well this was quick. A official poster replica of the painting from the Series 6 premier can be found here. .

I am not sure where I would put this in my home, but I am sure there are plenty of Who fans just waiting to add this gem to their collection.

Well Now What?

Posted by: Dr. Geek

So the holidays are over and you have seen the latest Christmas special over and over. So now what? Well, to cross the void till the new series begins, the official Doctor Who website has developed a new screen saver and a series of wallpapers to help those post holiday blues.

Personally I like the wallpapers. There is something oddly retro about the design. They remind me of advertisements I have seen from the 1940′s, ’50s and ’60′s. What do you think?

A Few Doctor-y Things

Posted by: Whochick

Okay, here’s the round-up this time around. Starting with the Doctor Who Theme…on Tesla Coil.

Tesla Coils – Arc Attack – Doctor Who Theme
At Maker Faire 2010, San Mateo

  • Doctor Who is proven to be the center of all SciFi. (tee hee)
  • Very spoiler-y photos from the the end of this season of Doctor Who may be found here. (And very nice ones they are, too.)
  • This bit of art over at deviantART is so very much made of Win. SciFi and Superheroes of the 70s. To me it looks like there is way more Who than any other show shown.
  • More spoilers! This time about this year’s Christmas special.

Stuff and Nonsense

  • Article 6 is going to be a bit late. Sorry, all. I didn’t manage to get it finished before I have to leave on vacation. But to keep you all entertained, here are a few things…

Advent Calendar 2008 – Days 4-9

Posted by: Whochick

This year’s Doctor Who Advent Calendar has all sorts of of surprises. Day 4 offers us part 1 of a short story called Number 1, Gallows Gate Road by Rupert Laight. Can the Doctor figure out what’s wrong with a seemingly normal boarding house?

Day 5‘s advent gift is a game called Black Hole. Can you keep the TARDIS from being sucked into a black hole?

Christmas Cards that you can download, print, and fold are Day 6‘s bounty. Check out the one with a picture of just the Tenth Doctor. Boy, he looks peeved.

Does your computer desktop need a new look? Yes? Well, then, Day 7‘s gift has the change you need: Desktop Wallpapers from The Next Doctor. I chose the first one. What about you?

The gift for Day 8 is another game. Cosmic Collider is a sort of modern pong-like game that lets you uncover pictures from The Next Doctor, and ultimately a script excerpt. I need more time to play this one. I’m dead curious about the script excerpt.

A Christmas Monster File is the gift for Day 9. Join Captain Jack as he discusses previous Christmastime visitors to planet Earth.
