As expected the series 6 Premier was a ratings hit for BBC America. The Impossible Astronaut, gave the channel the highest ratings in its history. However, The BBC could not make the same claims. Apparently this was the lowest rated series opener since the show returned in 2005.
So why the lower ratings? Maybe the story was too dark?, too complicated, to timey-whimy? No-one knows for sure but as this article reports, conventional wisdom is the ratings drop was due to warm weather in the UK. I guess it is hard to believe good weather could have such an effect, but then again I live in the Sunshine State. ![]()
So is this a bad omen or just a glitch? What do you think?
