The Oncoming Storm

Scott was at Timegate 2012 this weekend. Did you see him? Apparently, he had quite the busy time. Here is his rundown on Friday at the Con.
In this episode, Mike Faber from the ESO and ESW podcasts joins Scott and Calliope to discuss The Two Doctors. There may be a bit of snark about outfits (That’s your stealthy outfit, Doctor? Nice sunglasses, Dastari) and a few other topics, so be warned.
Mike also mentions a Doctor Who comic (which you can find here). He also says, “Enjoy the comic it’s a wonderful story for all things Doctor Who… (warning it’s 247 pages long, but well worth it).”
Do you remember when Doctor Who returned to our screens back in 2005 after the long drought? Did you take to the new version of the show right away, or did it take a while?
Well, while you’re thinking about it, why not join Scott and Calliope for a blast from the past as they discuss the 9th Doctor episode, Rose.
And yes, that was seven years ago. Can you believe it’s been that long?
And lo, into the Doctor-less wasteland (a.k.a. late 2003) came the animated attempt to do a Doctor Who reboot. Scream of the Shalka was written by Paul Cornell (writer of Father’s Day, my favorite 9th Doctor episode, among others), Sir Derek Jacobi was on board as The Master (later to reappear in the same role in the 10th Doctor episode, Utopia), Richard E. Grant provided the voice of “The Ninth Doctor” (after playing one of the versions of the Doctor in 1999′s Curse of Fatal Death), and Sophie Okonedo played the Companion-to-be: Alison Cheney (and later she played Liz X with the 11th Doctor.)
Quite the coming together of talent, eh?
So, listen to our opinions on the topic, then tell us what you thought of this animated episode.
Scott and Calliope get to interview Inspector Spacetime himself, Travis Richey! Inspector Spacetime, originally a Doctor Who spoof that appeared on Community, has taken on a life of its own. Fans have taken that beginning, and created a whole world to go with it. And now, there could be a related webseries….
